Improve Manifesting Odds for New Years Resolutions

Question: Do you have any tips for manifesting New Year’s Resolutions?

Answer: Yes, I do! Do NOT just say it. Write it down! Make it real by dreaming about completing it and then WRITE it down on paper. My best advice is to write a story about what it’s going to be like once you have completed it. All this falls back to the book I highly recommend, Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn. If you haven’t read it, I would try to make that your resolution! And if you have and you need additional resources, please feel free to dig into Henriette Anne Klauser’s book Write It Down, Make it Happen.

These two books are exceptional at teaching you techniques on how to get clear on what you want and making it manifest in your life. A fun way to manifest your dreams is to write down the list and share it with a group of friends. Pass out copies of your lists to each other so you can monitor all of the group’s dreams as they come true! (I love getting friends involved in my rituals – it seems to #1: make me do it. #2: hold myself more accountable for it. #3: have more fun doing it.) Try it – what’s the harm?

Now, from a feng shui perspective, I would suggest enhancing the front left-hand part of the home or room called the Skills and Knowledge gua. This gua is related to the mountain trigram, which symbolizes the place to go within to reflect and learn. The element is earth, the color is blue, a great symbol is light…so feel free to take some time to enhance this gua with the intention of you gaining wisdom about your life’s path and what is best to give your energy to this year.

Next, accent the center front and front right-hand areas of the home (called  the Career and Helpful People guas respectively) and you are on your way to placing yourself in the right place at the right time for what you are supposed to be doing in the coming year.  Items that help hold good energies here are things made of metal. You can place that list you just wrote in the front right-hand area in a metal box to tie it all together with your resolutions.

Keyhole – the door

7 Questions for Self Discovery

Happy New Year!

Since many people use this annual event to self- reflect, I thought I’d offer up a quick list of questions that may provide some insight into where you might want to put your energy this year.

1. What were my dreams when I was a child (like around 10 years old.) Who and what did I want to be back then?

2. What have been my greatest sources of joy and fulfillment in my life?

3. What activities are my greatest sources of joy professionally?

4. What activities do I absolutely love in my personal life?

5. What are my greatest talents and natural abilities?

6. What is the one most important thing I would like to accomplish in my career?

7. What is the one most important thing I would like to accomplish in my personal life?

If you follow the energetic trail of  your answers, you should eventually feel like you are being propelled towards living life “in the flow” – that sense of being right where you’re supposed to be, where life seems to take care of you.

When I was 10, when we played house and dolls, I remember being the “single lady interior decorator.”  (I had to be single, so any babies wouldn’t be left home alone.) While everyone was playing with their dolls in their “houses,” (made of cardboard boxes, etc.) I was the one that went around  and re-arranged their boxes into “better arrangements,” and consulted on their color choices…..go figure. I guess you could call me “a natural” in the feng shui consulting world. After eventually becoming a landscape architect – (which is what I THOUGHT I wanted to be after those playful years,) I have to say, that profession never gave me the “in the flow” feeling like feng shui does. I was always struggling for one reason or another.

Was it scary to toss a four-year degree and several hard-won state licenses in a notable profession to become a feng shui consultant? Uh- YEA!

Was it worth it – Uh- YEA!

Here’s to you in 2011 – may you find life as playful as I do!

glitter

End of Year/New Year Affirmations

I am grateful.           I am rich in spirit.

I am magnificent.     I am joyful.

I am receiving.        I am generous.

I am playful.             I am sizzling with enthusiasm!

I’ve been pondering my intentions for the New Year, and have been thinking about what symbols I want to have around to keep me inspired. Of course, I thought of one of my favorites – Affirmations. Sprinkling these little bits of positivity around always feels like I’ve added energetic glitter in my home…and since glitter is soooo popular this year, I thought I’d share my favorites, so you too can glitterize your spaces! Try writing them on pretty post-its (on make-up mirror or the fridge!), or create a vision board with them – or just write them anywhere you spend a lot of time.

I don’t know about you, but just reading this list makes me feel perkier and more ready for the new year!
